Versaly Announces Availability of Sound Themes for Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone Software
Ringtones, alarms, menu popups, and notifications for SMS, email and voice mail are specially created and offered to users of Windows Powered Smartphone Software
Seattle, WA – October 22, 2002 – At the global launch of the Microsoft Windows® Powered Smartphone today, Versaly Games, Inc., a leading wireless application service provider focused on delivering broad-based entertainment to mobile phones, announced that it is offering ringtones and sound themes from its large digital library, optimized for Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone software. Versaly has created over 40 sound themes for the global Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone software launch and plans to continue creating, producing and distributing high quality ringtones and sound themes for the Smartphone.
Sound themes include music from artists such as Jimi Hendrix, sound effects from Star Trek®, and original compositions for fans of Hip Hop, Techno, Heavy Metal, Caribbean Steel Drums, Chicago Blues Harmonica, New Orleans Jazz Sax, Latin Guitar, Boogie Piano, Cartoon sounds, Harpsichord and more. The sound packages are easily downloaded and automatically assigned to events in the Windows Powered Smartphone, including ringtones, clock alarms, reminders, notifications for Instant Message, SMS, email and voice mail, menu popups and system events. Many sound themes will include an image for use as wallpaper on the mobile phone screen, to provide the end-user with a complete themed mobile phone. Versaly plans to distribute its image and sound themes in cooperation with wireless carriers and handset manufacturers to make it easy for end-users to download new and fun sound themes to their mobile phone.
Versaly’s image and sound themes is the first non-application to pass compliance testing and be certified under Microsoft’s Mobile2Market program, which provides technical and marketing support to software vendors for the development, testing and distribution of network-ready applications. Through the Mobile2Market process, Versaly has received the Designed for Windows for Smartphone logo, denoting full compliance with Microsoft security and network guidelines. Mobile phones built on the Windows Powered Smartphone platform combine fully integrated voice and data capabilities with a rich set of applications including personal information management (PIM), gaming and multimedia features in a small, lightweight mobile phone form factor.
